The rose is England's national flower.



It was adopted after the Wars of the Roses.
The Wars of the Roses were the civil wars
fought between the royal house of York,
who had a white rose as it's emblem
and the royal house of Lancaster, who had a red rose.
These wars were fought from 1455 to 1487.
