As morning breaks the old steamer chugs along the river
black smoke spewing from its stacks
|
|
|
Deep in its hold
a cargo it does carry
somewhere upriver
delivering to a store
ready to be sold
Just around the bend
and before the sun
has fully arisen
it will reach
its journey's end
|
|
|
Meandering its way
through valleys
and bends
the ole river flows
day after day
